Background

Originally from the business field, Lakshmi’s passion for programming kept drawing her back to the IT field. She has over 12 years of experience developing web applications and leading projects.

While Lakshmi possesses a great deal of experience developing and designing web and database applications using .Net, she has a strong focus on customer requirements clarity, usability and ensuring that we deliver a good quality product that meets our customer’s needs. She has worked on applications in several industries including health care, finance, advertising and marketing and delivering projects following agile development practices.

Lakshmi obtained a certification in project management from the University of Central Florida, has a MCSD certification and holds a bachelors degree in business administration and masters in software technology from Hyderabad, India.

When she's not in the office, Lakshmi can be found running, singing or sketching.

Philosophy

Listen, adapt and improvise

It is important to listen to your customer to understand what they want, and along with the ability to adapt and be creative, to turn a cold specification into “something real” that a customer will find valuable. Through leading many projects, I have found that the lack of doing this is one of the single biggest reasons projects fail!

Not done until its verified

Often times development teams write code and assume it works since it passed the automated tests – until you find out it doesn’t satisfy what the customer wants. In addition to test driven development, it is important to walk through a verification process to ensure that the product delivered is what was envisioned by the customer and fits their workflow.

Strive for perfection

Delivering quality is key! Even if you get everything right, it is important to deliver quality, both in process and product. Customers always remember the journey you took them through, and it is our responsibility to ensure it is pleasant. I strive for every project to be perfect, since that is the only way to keep your customers coming back.
