Charles Brown - Programming Technician

Background

Before working at DTS I was always interested in technology. From building my own websites to fixing and repairing broken computers, I was always in love with the computer world but never thought to pursue it as a career until I met the wonderful people that work for DTS.

My focus at DTS is on quality documentation and user experience. Building on my liberal arts educational background and my experience teaching at the middle and high school levels, I focus on making our tools user friendly and making sure non-technical users can use, administer and support our applications. In addition to my formal educational background, B.A from University of Central Florida, my affinity for technology and software coding helps me support other members of the development team in a variety of environments, from development to testing to support.

Philosophy

Usability is Key

When I test our applications, I focus on making sure they are intuitive to users. It doesn't matter if a piece of software can do everything under the sun, if the user can't figure out how to access all of the features.

User Experience is Paramount:

Even developers and designers use software and we've all been frustrated by things that don't work the way we expect them to. I approach testing from this point of view so that our users never run into this frustration when using our software. We work with the clients from day one to make sure that our tools do exactly what they want, exactly the way they want it.
