The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) was recently awarded the Savvy Mapping Award at the AASHTO GIS-T 2014 Conference in Burlington, Vermont. The award was presented to them based on the State’s Bikes & Byways web application. CDOT contracted DTS to develop this application in order to provide aide to Bicyclists traveling throughout Colorado. The Bikes & Byways application provides cyclists with information such as:

• Location of Bike Shops, Restaurants and Welcome Centers
• Street views of actual road
• Alerts, road closures and detour routes
